Happy New Year from Oz!

Hello everyone:

Greetings from sunny & hot Perth! Had 4 gorgeous and relaxing days in a beach town about 3 hrs south. Mostly read and chilled out (lots of backgammon & cribbage as well). Flies were in abundance there. Have I told you about the flies in Australia? They are worse here than anywhere.

Spent last night at a barbie with some friends and greeted the New Year with lots of hope and dreams in our hearts. We feel that 2005 will be our year.

It's been difficult to tear ourselves away from the tsunami coverage. Things that have effected us in the past do not compare. We always have had each other and know our families are still here. That is the most important thing. Our friends John & Briana Taylor and girls from Lafayette, CA (some of you have met them in the past) were in Phuket for Christmas/New Year. We have been unable to reach them and are very concerned. So our prayers go out to so many who have lost everything.

Our New Years "resolutions" are to walk comfortably (Whitey), better health and more excercise (both of us). Get moved to the states comfortably and get out of our financial debt. We feel we are navigating our own future instead of having it dictated by events. (Whitey is writing 2 books & a song that he wants Jimmy Buffet to sing - hmmmmm). But we will work on the other goals.

Looking forward to this blog page. Too cool!

Love you all,
Max and Whitey

from Kay

Hi everyone!
Best wishes to everyone for a great upcoming year!
Thanks, Dad and Larry for setting up this blog. It will be fun-once we all figure out how to work on it.
My hopes for the New Year-
For myself- to get organized in our home, enjoy my classes, keep up my running and exercise, manage the busyness of my life with calm and clear focus, and love.
Most of all- I hope for more time with all of you- to make the time in our lives- to share our lives with each other. My prayers everyday are for good health and strength for all of us in our lives.
In this big, cold, scary world with all of the war, natural disasters, let's appreciate what we have in us to support each other- and enrich each other- in our day to day lives or across the miles- let's not take what we have for granted. Happy New Year!
Love, Kay

Wow!

Ok, so I'm attempting something new on the internet. If it doesn't take me more than five minutes, I'm in.

This week has been tough. I've got the flu. It hits me real hard once a year and I hate it. George is working and the boys are getting cabin fever. Too much tv. Now it is going to rain hard for two days. Yea, the dog is muddy again. Oh well, I'm aiming for the end of the week to be better.

I like this blog idea.
Thanks,
Ellie

Links >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I figured out how to get links on the side. I had to change the format. I put up a few but it takes a little html work so to put up more will require I have enough time. If you are intested in adding any links provide them in the comments and I'll plug them in. They don't have to be news and blogs, maybe even funstuff or interesting stuff or possibly even fun and interesting stuff.

Back on the Chaingang

I had a nice visit in Utah but that's all over now. Back to work and it seems twice as hard since no right-thinking people are working this week. Or it seems that way since everything is twice as hard to trackdown or get done.
