from Kay

Hey, Ellie- that's great you posted photos on the blog. Cute to see you guys at the baseball game. Davis, what great typing! Typing is a great skill to have.
Max, yeah on your closing! Megan and her friends are very excited for their swim camp and staying with you- get ready...
We are just moving along through summer here- and hoping it doesn't go too fast. We are getting Mom's house ready to rent by July 1. We have secured tenants- they are a cute couple moving here from Missouri- they love the house and she asked if it would be okay for her to do some of the gardening- YES! They seem very responsible, quiet, nice. She will be teaching at Waterford School (private school) and he is an engineer. Hopefully, the year goes well (1 year lease)- with no problems.
Larry, we figured out our computer problem. We shut everything down (on both computers), unplugged and then replugged everything back in- and played around with lots of different settings- so in the end we don't know what made our internet connection work again upstairs- but it's working- isn't that the nature of technology?
Well, hope everyone is well-
Love, Kay

Closing!!!

That was a very cute report from Davis.

Kay, your run through BC left me exhausted. We could hardly walk to the library! Good on ya!

We got the unconditional on our offer yesterday. They were just waiting for the building inspection. From all of our own construction, which at the end was a bit rushed, they only picked up 3 minor items. We're thrilled!!!! So closure is next Friday. I think we'll have some champagne!!

We're into watching the World Cup. We love the fact that it is so international. (Unlike the baseball World Series). If the Aussies win today then I believe they go on to the Round of 16. Our friends, John & Briana and daughters have gone to Europe for 3 weeks so we are taking advantage of their swimming pool. They were able to get tickets to one of the 2nd round games which should be Brazil and ???

Love,
Max

Summer School

Davis is taking a computer class in summer school. They put together a newsletter. Davis wrote an article:

Typing Class by Davis Marlar
Hi my name is Davis. I go to Pope John XXIII. I am in 4th grade. I'm 9 years old. I like typing and sports. We type a lot more than you think. I think typing is fun. You'll have fun. Everyday you'll learn a lot of typing skills. Have a good time at typing. If you do typing you're good at computers. This is how I learned to type because I like using the computer.

A new journalist in town.

baseball

We went to the Arizona Diamondbacks game. It was Cub Scout night. The scouts lined up around the stadium for the national anthem. It was amazing. Very exciting. (Lots of waiting). We had a good time.

Memories Run in Brigham City

Yesterday I took Megan and a teammate to Brigham City for a swim meet. While they did their warmup for the meet- I went for a run through the streets of B.C. The pool is in the same location- but it's a new building, pool, etc. I ran up Forest Street, along Main Street, toward the cemetery, past St. Henry's, past the Tabernacle, back down Main Street, down 100 North, past the Junior High, back along Forest Street, past the orthodontist (Dr. Anderson- still there), past the library, back down Forest Street to the pool. Everything seemed so close and smaller in scale. After the meet, we drove past Bunderson and through our old neighborhood. We went into the Library to see Dad's name on the plaque. It was a fun run and drive through the city- fun to remember our childhood- but then I felt done with it- and was glad to drive back to Salt Lake.
I have great memories- but I'm glad to be grown up and in a bigger city- and all of the opportunities and a little more activity.
We finished school on Friday- we're officially in SUMMER! We love this break!
HAPPY SUMMER TO EVERYONE!
Love, Kay

Cats

Why a Pony? See this previous post.

Maybe I should have discribed as herding cats.

"I'm living a dream."

Casey the Cat

On thursday, we had too put Casey the Cat to sleep because of his backed up colon, "He couldn't poop". Now he is taking long, peacful naps with Poppa. We all miss him a lot, so here is a poem in memory of "Casey the Cat".

Caring, careful, cuddly, catching birds cat
A great friend to everyone, always on Lita's lap
Sassy and cute, special and sensitive
Extremely demanding, expects water from a glass
Yes, he will always be in our hearts!!
"CASEY THE CAT"

Every change in each of our lives affected Casey, causing his problems. Now that he is somewhere safe and pain free with Poppa, we know he is ok. WE WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU CASEY!!!!!!
