the beach

Hi everyone:

Soooooo sorry to hear about the cold weather in Utah, Kay. (hee hee hee) We went to the beach yesterday morning. We get down there by 8 a.m. Whitey parks himself in a chair on the lawn above the beach since it is too difficult to get down to the beach with crutches. I go for a nice walk with head phones on. Then we both chill out and just read our books for a couple hours. If it gets too hot then we put out our umbrella or go under a tree. We rarely stay more than 2-3 hours. Just a nice relax. (bit different than skiing though, don't you think?) We do usually swim but will wait until the cast is off.

They are have a charity international cricket game played in Melbourne today and being broadcast in 152 countries around the world. The Melbourne Cricket Ground holds 86,000 people. Aparently brother, Gary, and Adrian are there. All proceeds will go to a tsunami relief fund (I think World Vision for this one). Top cricket players have come to it. One team is "Asia" and the other team is "the rest of the world". Asia includes players from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan & India. On the other team it is Australia, New Zealand, England, West Indies, South Africa. All are top players on their own teams and usually rivals. A mobile phone company is donating $1000 for each run made. Toyata is donating $50,000 for each 6 point run (that is not easy to do) and they are already up $350,000 at half tme. As much as I find cricket boring, it is a very 'international' sport and this just shows that.

Good luck with school, Kay. You can do it!!!!

Love you all,
Max
