The Blog
Wow - it's been almost 2 weeks since anyone has written something on the blog. Either everyone is really busy (yep) and of course enjoying having Larry make the rounds.
We enjoyed having Larry here. It was great to catch up and hear all he is doing. We realized that he and Whitey had not seen each other since a day in South Carolina which was over 4 years ago. And before that we have been in Panama and done a canal transit and some days in the San Blas Islands. It was great to reminisce a bit with him and he & Whitey talk about the things they had in common with Brazil. We had a great walking day in SF. It was a gorgeous sunny day and we walked everywhere. All of us admitted we were a bit sore and tire near the end and we had eatten too much of a great variety of food but it was fun. Certainly brought some memories back to Whitey and I.
Well, if you are wondering where we are living these days, it is still in the floating home. The neighborhood association has asked that the city have a hearing for us to get approval for our residency and that will not occur until Nov. 21. So we thought that's ok as we are still ok on the floating home. Then the Friday afternoon that Larry was first here, the BCDC lady (Bay Conservation, etc, etc) showed up in my office saying she was upset the house was still here. We sat her down and explained all of our problems with getting our permit upstairs approved, etc. etc and somehow she calmed down and said ok. "As long as I know you are still progressing towards moving it" Whew! So who knows - Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc, etc.
We wake up everyday and appreciate that we have a paying job (that we mostly enjoy) and a roof over our heads. Someday I can unpack by boxes full of treasures.
Hope all is well with everyone. I heard from larry that Lynne & Charley are moving into another home. Hope that is going a smooth as possible.
