Highlights of DC

Friday May 11 - fly to Washington - and there was Larry! Wonderful!!

Saturday May 12 - brunch at Tastee Diner in Silver Spring and Larry's good talk and guide service.

Sunday May 13 - beautiful sky and sunshine. Lunch out and local sights; into City and around the National Cathedral grounds.

Monday May 14 - to hotel and CFIDS lobbying training in afternoon. Larry makes all the logistics so easy.

Tuesday May 15 - up to the Dirksen Senate buidling to eat, then out to the park where we found a demonstration about Affordable Housing. (Street Theatre.) As we were leaving the FBI, police and K-9 dogs arrived and cleared out half the park - bomb threat.

Then to meeting at Senator Bennett's office - asking for support for more research on Chronic Fatique Syndrome from the National Institutes of Health.
Next we met with Senator Orrin Hatch and his staff on the same request. Three Utahns - Angela Linford, Cindy Bateman and I, plus Larry and Kim, CEO of the National CFIDS organization, seemed to get some good attention.
Nice reception after all the lobbying appointments at Tom's (local lobbyist) old home.

Wednesday May 16 - Larry and I went to the Mall; visited the Vietnam Memorial (again) and then the new Vietnam Nurses monument and the World War II monument.

Thursday May 17 - Larry went to work and I just "puddled out."... a quiet 2-nap day. A highlight - reading all the Blue Nettles blogs --- very meaningful.

Friday May 18 - Happy Birthday Ellie!

Larry at work -- and I'm remembering so very much about the last fifty years. Some hard times, some bad times - but God has blessed me through the years; with Herb and our children, then their spouses and our grandchildren.

I thank God for each of you.

Love, Lita
