from The Bush Family
Hey everyone,
Some updates on the Bush Family...
Megan left for Costa Rica today with her girl scout troop. She'll be there until the 30th. She was very excited. She'll turn 16 years old tomorrow. We are thrilled for her to have this experience. She still won't get her driver's license for a while because she's been too busy to get the course completed. We're fine with that. She's been working as a lifeguard at the JCC and swimming with her team.
Marisa is enjoying her summer; ballet class, hiphop class, power tumbling and swimming with neighbors. She's been joining me at some of the exercise classes at the JCC. She starts her first day of volunteering at Hogle Zoo tomorrow morning. She is very excited that we're going to start transforming her bedroom into more of a teen room this summer- since she'll be 13 years old in a month.
Both of the girls will be going to Camp Timberline (Colorado) in July. We are excited that they will get to share that experience together.
Duane had his perfect Father's Day on Sunday; we went to Utah Lake all day- windsurfed, played in the water, played with Sandy, rode bikes and relaxed together.
I am trying to get settled into summer and focus on my home organization, paperwork, hobbies at home, etc. (I know you've all heard this before). It's the story of my summers- my lists are too long- but I love this time.
We have sad news- our neighbor Christine Brimley died last Friday of colon cancer. She was only 38 years old. It is very sad. It has been a difficult year watching this family; support where we can but never feel like we've done enough. Paige is 12 years old, Peri is 9 years old. Too young to lose their Mom. Chris is hanging in there.
Hope all is well with everyone-
Ellie- so funny about Davis vaccuming up water...we have had some similar incidents... we always laugh later.
Happy Summer to everyone!
Love, Kay
