From Mom

SPECIAL TIME

Sunday, June 17

Flight to Oakland went smoothly, and then there was Max!!

How wonderful!

Then to Glen Cove Marina, and Whitey! The Lighthouse residence is lovely; they've done a beautiful job. As in all the homes, it is good to see old family treasures being enjoyed in another generation's home.

Lots of good talk and lazing around (for me) while Max and Whitey stay so busy...getting in a little work on Gypsy Blue, and lots of work to get ready for the Marina Open House on Saturday.

Tuesday, June 19

My cousin Janie Duthie Humphrey came over and went to Benicia for lunch........and lots of family talk.

Wednesday, June 20

Cousin Jo Duthie came over after her work and we each told our stories about the sagas we've each traveled through since we saw each other a year ago. No matter how old and "experienced" we've become, we agreed life maybe never prepares us for what may happen next.

Saturday, June 23

Open House at the Marina....a beautiful day with two bands, 21 paint artists, 2 potters, lots of good food and a great variety of people and dogs throughout the day. Max and Whitey put on a very delightful event.

Jill Duthie, who has also settled in California, came over Saturday afternoon and (surprise!) we also talked a lot.

Sunday, June 24

Whitey and Max took me on a beautiful drive through San Francisco (avoiding the parade area) to the ocean. Stops at Seal Island and the Distillary in Half Moon Bay (a delicious brunch) along the coast then through the mountains and the redwood forest. Wonderful day.

During the week we went fabric shopping for boat cushions; Max and Whitey served beautiful meals and I got to weed some flower beds and plant petunias. Very therapeautic activities, and it always feels so good to use some energy on something that shows.

I fly back to Salt Lake this afternoon and back to my "regular" life ---if I ever figure out what that is.

It has been a week of soothing love and acceptance from Max and Whitey, as well as my cousins and the many people who flow around the Marina.

Thank you, Max and Whitey

Love to all,

Mom/Lita
